ORIKI (Appellation) in Yoruba land.

Yesterday was a bit hectic for me hence I could barely find time to update GidiLink blog.
What happened was that a few of my friends needed my hand on their blogs. So yesterday witnessed the birth of two new blogs.

Oriki Ile Yoruba is all about Oriki's or what could be called appellations. Youruba people are very proud of their culture hence my friend started a Facebook page so Yoruba people from around the world will not forget their culture. Every yoruba person regardless of where he is from has an Oriki. I myself only know a few from the Owu clan of Egba land because that's where my mom is from.

We already bought a domain name for that but you can still find the blog at www.orikileyoruba.blogspot.com

Do you know your Oriki? Mine is Omo Onida! loosely translated as son of him who wields the sword.
That's only part of it though. You can also get yours if you leave a comments saying the name of your clan and where you are from. My friend who is as Oriki expert will look into it. You can also visit his blog.
